The "perfect 10 ring"
The media determines how we should look and what is beautiful. We are increasingly trying to eliminate the "outer imperfections". But who decides what is "imperfect", or even wat perfect beauty is?
The Bijenkorf offers jewellery label CC (Chequita & Christiaan) the oppertunity to present their first joint jewel, the "perfect 10 ring". This special edition to mark the Dutch Design Week will be sold during this week at the Bijenkorf Eindhoven. It is a design based on the perfect facial proportions and shows the  vision of CC on beauty.  They will be donating a part of the sales to the Dutch Burns Foundation.

Materia, 3D Printing Exhibition

The exhibition ‘Materia goes 3D Printing’ runs from 8 September 2011 till 27 January 2012 and focuses on several techniques of Rapid Manufacturing that are in use now.
Techniques are explained, printers and products are at display. During two special lecture days, experts on the subject will share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Furthermore Materia initiates an international jewellery competition.
Materia goes 3D Printing
Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Manufacturing, Rapid Tooling, 3D printing, Stereolithography, Laser Sintering – what does it mean, what can I do with it and what is it used for?
With the exhibition ‘Materia goes 3D printing’ we want to break the confusion and bridge the distance between the different terms. Everybody knows a bit about this theme or has heard about it. The exhibition provides information that makes the visitor understand the possibilities of the different technologies and makes them think further.

Think Twice: New Latin American Jewelry May 26 - October 16, 2011

Today, a new generation of artists from the continent is interested in exploring that relationship and observing jewelry outside its conventional frame. In the last ten years, thanks to the Internet and to foreign publications, Latin American jewelry makers have been able to learn about the work of their European colleagues, yet only a few of them have had significant exposure beyond their own countries.
Think Twice aims to rectify this imbalance, offering the international audience a glimpse of the history of jewelry in Latin America and a comprehensive view of its contemporary development, drawing attention to the unique and innovative ways in which visual artists and jewelry makers born or living in Latin America view and relate, through their work, to such a diverse continent.
